Mancini tips Chelsea for league title

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini claims Chelsea will retain the Premier League title this season.

Mancini spent more than £120million on a host of big-name players during the summer transfer window but still believes Chelsea are ahead of his side when it comes to being crowned champions.

The two clubs will go head-to-head at Eastlands on Saturday in a game which has been described as the first real test of Chelsea's championship mettle this season.

But speaking ahead of the much-anticipated tussle, Mancini claims Chelsea will be crowned champions again this season.

"Chelsea are the best team in the Premier League at the moment," he said.

"They are probably going to win the Premier League title easily.

"They are a strong team, who have been playing together for many years.

"They have a fantastic manager and they have worked to reach this situation."

Meanwhile, Mancini must decide how best to deploy an injury-ravaged squad for the high-profile clash.

Mario Balotelli, Aleksander Kolarov, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Wayne Bridge and Micah Richards have definitely been ruled out while Emmanuel Adebayor, Joleon Lescott and Jerome Boateng are facing late fitness tests.

"I am disappointed we have all these injuries at the moment," added the Italian.

"I only have 11 players who are 100 per cent fit."
